James Ashford the founder of Go Proposal tells a story that goes something like this.
“You are walking down a street when a car pulls up at the curb. It attracts your attention because it’s well, sort off, your dream car. The window winds down and you see someone you recognise.
“Wow” you say, “you must have to work long hours to afford a car like this.”
Not really comes the reply. I only work three days a week and never stay late. I have half the number of clients I used to and am making twice as much money. I have a team who do all the mundane tasks I thought only I could do.
I take 12 weeks off a year, go on nice holidays with my family and drive my dream car,
I look at my future self who says: “You could have all this too if you’d give up your limiting beliefs.”
We all have limiting beliefs. You may say: I’m not qualified enough, my clients won’t pay me what I’m worth, they only want to deal with me and what if I fail?
Write down the five limiting beliefs that are stopping you from achieving your dreams and imagine things are only getting worse.
What excuse will you give yourself when you meet your future self?
